We live 16 miles east of Kingman Arizona. We have a 4 mile road that we work on continually. It is possibly the toughest material to deal with, consisting of caliche clay, dirt, sand, and small rocks to large boulders.
Its as hard as concrete to which we have destroyed a 3 point hitch blade in less than a month. Being in Arizona , our rain is few and far between, leading to less time spent working on our road. So after a decade of paying a grader operator or working on it ourselves, we found the Roadrunner Grader. The reviews were incredible and almost unbelievable.
So after communicating with Steve and Kathryn Smucker at Roadrunner Equipment, we determined it to be the best built piece of equipment and that if needed, you could replace every part . We ordered it with the serrated blade, the end of January and received it the middle of March. When we pick it up, we were awestruck. It looked indestructible! Brought it home and gave it a try. Hooked it to our 1969 Massey Ferguson 135 tractor. Didn't know how the tractor would handle lifting it but there were no issues.
For the test, we headed for our tough road that is like concrete. Running at idle power, the serrated blade on the roadrunner started pulling the rocks, small to large out of the ground. If the rocks were to larger, it would shear them off or shatter them. Amazing! The rear blade does a great job at smoothing. This machine is so heavy, it stays on the ground. No bouncing.
Our friends and neighbors couldn't believe that it did such an incredible job fixing the road. We love the giant T handles with the grease fittings that adjust the blades. So easy to use. This indestructible machine have easily paid for itself as we will never have to hirer a road grader again. This equipment is over built and worth owning. It's just a joy to operate. Thank you for an awesome, overbuilt, made in the USA product.
